Regularly, I'm asked: "But why 16?"
But before registering the MAISON 16 brand, it wasn't a sure thing.
We really liked the brand "Père César."
I imagined a logo with an old man and a beret. 😉
Some time after I registered the trademark with the INPI, I received a registered letter from an Italian wine company. Their name wasn't the same, but there was a precedent with alcohol and the trademark registration "César."
I was told I had little chance of winning; I had to change the name.
Great.
So we racked our brains and got straight to the point: the diminutive of my first name César → 16, for "Seize," "Cés'," "César."
Simply.
